Hello all, I got this invite inworld and wanted to share it with you. Amazing competition and as we all know LeeZu makes stunning creations, so fantastic excuse to go and spend some lindens on some gorgeous creations. To all who enter good luck and can not wait to see the 20 selected walk the runway!

Welcome to the first annual model competition/search. We at [LeeZu!] are very excited to announce that we have not one, but TWO openings at our main store for store models. Have you ever dreamed of becoming a store model for [LeeZu!]? Well, here's your chance!

***PLEASE NOTE*** You do NOT have to be a professional model to participate in this contest. All you need is a sense of style and at least one hour per day to spend at the [LeeZu!] store six days per week. One of the prizes is a paid position with {LeeZu!].

HOW IT WORKS:

The search will begin with a photo. You can take a photo anywhere on the TT9 Sim, in the store or anywhere else you think would make a good shot. Photos can be raw or photoshopped. You are required to take your photo in a mix and match outfit from [LeeZu!].

NOTE: MUST BE MIX AND MATCH... not just one outfit. All articles of clothing MUST be [LeeZu!]. However, accessories, hair and shoes can be from anywhere.

Once you're satisfied with your photo, please put it in a notecard along with your name, a list of what you are wearing in the photo and submit the notecard to BARBARA NICHOLLS. Photos may be any size up to 1024 X 1024. Okay, how's it sounding so far?

BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!!

Contest starts on July 15th. We will accept entries up to 8:00 pm SLT on July 31st. Once the deadline is up, 20 finalists will be chosen to do a simple runway walk. Dig out one of your cool poses and show us what you got. There will be five judges at the end of the runway and each of the 20 finalists will be asked one question regarding modelling in general.

NOTE:

Finalists MUST wear what they wore in their photos for the runway walk!

The runway walk and selection of winners will take place on August 15th at 12 noon SLT. Finalists will need to also attend a rehearsal for the August 15th show. Rehearsals will be scheduled for 12 noon SLT on August 8th and 9th. The show will be attended by Media, Agency Representatives, Management and Staff of [LeeZu!] and the general public. The show will be coordinated by "STUDIO RED". They'll teach you everything you need to know for the walk.

PRIZES:

From the 20 finalists, based on the photos and the interview, two winners will be selected. These two winners will each receive a 10 K CASH prize.

SPECIAL NOTE:

The two winners will be offered a position modelling in the [LeeZu!] store where they will become paid employees and will be expected to work one hour per day in the store, six days per week. In addition to the 10 K Cash Prize, they will receive several outfits of their choice from the [LeeZu!] store, plus they will be inducted into the modelling pool.

Special attention will be given to those who can put together an original outfit from [LeeZu!] items.

“On November 4th, 2008 Proposition 8 passed, amending the state Constitution to ban same-sex marriage.

In the wake of the defeat, there has been a groundswell of initiative from within the community at grassroots level. Seizing this opportunity, new political and protest organizatitions are forming almost daily. The NOH8 Campaign is a photo project & silent protest created by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska and partner Jeff Parshley in direct response to the passage of Proposition 8.

The campaign started with portraits of everyday Californians who support Marriage Equality and soon rose to celebrities, military personnel, brothers & sisters, law enforcement, lesbian mothers, directors, politicians, newlyweds, and more, Photos feature subjects with duct tape over their mouths symbolizing their voices not being heard and NOH8 painted on one cheek in protest. “

As residents of SL™ and as individual human beings, we have the right to a voice. In Second Life™ we can be partnered to whoever we choose, male or female. And yet we are all from different countries, some of us are from places where same-sex marriage is legal. Others are from districts where even civil unions don’t exist as an option. The thing we all have in common is that we care about everyone having equal rights, and everyone is willing to come together for it. The NO H8 campaign in SL™ is a way for us to say “Hey, we want our voices to be heard.”

The response so far has been absolutely overwhelming. People from all over the world have placed duct tape over their mouths and placed NOH8 on their pixel faces in protest of Proposition 8. A lot of the photos can be seen in the Flickr group, and the official NOH8 website has dedicated a section to the SL photos as well.

Hello to all models!

In preparation for the launch of a new project, I am holding a casting call for new models, both MALE and FEMALE. The model position is primarily for LIVE modeling, (events or in-store work) but I will be looking for a few runway and print models as well.

The number of models to be hired are as follows:

20 Live Models
10 Runway Models
5 Print Models

Live models are considered to be in an "entry-level" position and may be graduated to Runway or Print model status at a later time, and there may be a few opportunities for both depending on needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

-Must be at least 4 months old in SL.
-Must have attended modeling school, currently be attending modeling school, or have had at least three modeling jobs.

To Audition:

1. Join the Starlight subscriber group by using the following landmark. All call backs will be announced through this group. We cannot IM every model who receives a call back individually, so THIS STEP IS VITAL.

3. Place ONE headshot photo inside the folder, titled with your name, FULL PERMS. If you do not send it full perms, then I cannot put it on a board for review.

It's been quiet a while since I did a week 2 week update. Ever since poor Jennaa was put into lock down. I have had such trouble with SL over the last few weeks but I think it's finally starting to settle down. After everything was sorted out with with the lindens, I downloaded the update and my word what a disaster! Let's just say I have gone back to my good old viewer and I seem to not be nearly having as much trouble thank goodness.

I have managed to catch up on alot of shopping, slowly catching up on the shows I missed and I got myself a new home! I am so in love with my new home and I don't think I have ever been this happy with my residence on SL. I had looked at Costa Rica Sims before, but thought I had better get a little more settled, then when my friend Imani showed me a plot that was available that was it... SOLD.

The Costa Rica Sims is a world within a virtual world, having been named one of the "25 Most Beautiful Places in Second Life®" by different publications and "Hot Spots" on Secondlife.com®. ANNOUNCING MISS BLISS COUTURE 2010!

I am entering this and thought I would share it with everyone or the one person who checks out my blog. (The below text is taken directly from the note card).

This is a multi-level competition based on photos, live modeling and objective judging. NO VOTES! The competition begins June 18th and we will accept entries till July 30th 2009.

Step 1 - Join "THE BEST OF SL Magazine Readers" Group. All notices and results will be announced in this group only.

Step 2 - Models will submit photos of themselves wearing a dress or outfit from Bliss Couture. One full body and one headshot 512 X 512 (FULL PERM) each. Full body photos will be judged on styling, while headshots will judged based on visual appeal of the model. Please send your entry in a folder (not a notecard) to Caymon Zhora. Label your entry MISS BLISS COUTURE 2010 (YOUR NAME).

Step 3 - 100 girls will be selected from these entries for a live audition callback. Models should again wear a Bliss Couture dress or outfit and style themselves in a way they believe represents the image of Bliss Couture. Live audition will include a runway walk and will take place over 2 live audition times so all girls will have a chance to be seen.

Step 4 - Pool will be narrowed down to 20 models from the live audition. Since the winner of the competition will be working closely with designer Amutey DeCuir, it is important that the girl herself show signs of reliability and be personable. An interview will be scheduled for each girl to gauge for compatibility between model and designer.

Step 5 - The pool of 20 will be narrowed down to 10. The 10 finalists will all have a photoshoot done wearing the same dress provided to them by Bliss Couture. These side by side photos by a professional photographer will be judged by a panel and will determine the top 5.

Step 6 - The top 5 will all be invited to be Bliss Couture Models, on staff for live modeling, runway modeling, special events and select vendor ads. The 5 finalists will walk in a runway show, wearing all new releases from Bliss Couture. A panel of judges will be present to determine the winner.

Step 7 - From the top 5, ONE lady will be chosen as Miss Bliss Couture 2010. Miss Bliss will be considered the "Face" of Bliss Couture, appearing in most vendor ads for new clothing, and will exclusively be the model in all print advertising for magazines and other media. Miss Bliss Couture will be given priority for all modeling jobs available, only being replaced in the event of her being unavailable.

PRIZES!


The top 10 finalists will receive a professional photoshoot, and their choice of any one fatpack of a Bliss Couture dress or outfit.

The top 5 finalists will all become Bliss Couture models, and be hired for various modeling work within the company. In addition to the prizes for the top 10, the top 5 girls will also each receive a $5000L gift card to Bliss Couture.

Miss Bliss Couture will be awarded a specially designed diamond jewelry set from Alyssa Bijoux . She will also be given all future Bliss Couture releases throughout her reign (one year), 10,000L Cash Prize and of course the title of Miss Bliss 2010.

The winner will also receive an invitation to Boulevard Agency and an interview for BOSL Magazine.

In the wake of the defeat, there has been a groundswell of initiative from within the community at grassroots level. Seizing this opportunity, new political and protest organizations are forming almost daily. The NOH8 Campaign is a photo project & silent protest created by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska and partner Jeff Parshley in direct response to the passage of Proposition 8.

The campaign started with portraits of everyday Californians who support Marriage Equality and soon rose to celebrities, military personnel, brothers & sisters, law enforcement, lesbian mothers, directors, politicians, newlyweds, and more, Photos feature subjects with duct tape over their mouths symbolizing their voices not being heard and NOH8 painted on one cheek in protest. ”

I thought about it for quiet some time and I have finally decided to try something new for my blog. It seems a heap of bloggers do a look of the day or this freebie from here or there, I wanted to try something different. So I have come up with "Fashion On Any Budget". My idea is to pick a look and create a complete outfit for the budget conscious, and on the other end of the scale, a complete outfit for those who shop like their is no tomorrrow. I have set a limit of L$300 for the budget conscious outfit and for the other oufit...the sky is the limit. I am always trying to present unique ideas for users of SL and at the same time, challenge my own creativity and ability to style outfits..... Well again I finally came back to SL after a few days off sick... only to find Jennaa has been put into lock down! My account was completely disabled and I could do nothing with my account at all! So I gave up and called Linden Labs to see what the deal was, and this is not an easy or cheap task from Australia. After sorting the problem out, which didn't take that long surprisingly, I was finally told I could have my darling Jennaa back in 5 working days... ummm 5 working days are you serious! This was a rush through as well. In the first place I was told it would take a week and a half.

Now I didn't mind so much until I found out about how much money had been taken from me and we are not talking about Lindens, even though they can be put back into real life currency as we all know. Yet again some lovely hacker had manged to steal a lot of money from my accounts. This is not the first time this has happened....actually it's the third time for me, and to be honest I am over it! If something is not done to improve security I am wondering if I can possibly ever trust putting my credit info, paypal account or any other form of payment method on Second Life. When I raised my concern about this with a Linden Labs operator I was told their system was safe... so how come this has happened three times to me now?

Hopefully later this week, I will have my darling Jennaa back and can get back to work, but if this happens again I don't know what I will do. I am wondering has anyone else had this sort of problem with Second Life or even if you have had your Second Life account hacked. Honestly people pour a lot of money into this baby, there must be a better way to make it secure!

The only other thing that got me down was the fact that the Modavia castings were going to happen soon, I knew it was around the 24th of May and I wanted to know if I had made the first casting call. There was no way to tell, even from my emails as my IM's had been capped 1 day into being away. Luckily my gorgeous friend Imani told me that I had in fact made the first casting... but there was no way I was going to be able to make it because Jennaa was locked up somewhere with some nasty Linden Labs operator making her eat soup! (For people who don't know me.. not the biggest fan of soup)!

So I won't get there for the first casting and I have sent my apologies, but I want to say best of luck to every single model who was chosen for the casting. Go and walk like a superstar and kick some butt! I can't wait to see...well hear, who makes it to the 15 for the next round. I am sure you all will be amazing best of luck! We would all love to get into Modavia as well... we all know what that means, it's the cream of the crop. Good luck!

I posted my photo above of the snapshot I sent in for the Modavia casting, what a fantastic theme they chose for the first casting! I had a ball putting this together and have to say styling outfits has to be my favourite thing to do on Second Life along side modeling. I love the challenge of being given a theme and working to it. Can not wait for the next casting to give it a crack again!

So my idea is to create an alt and showcase some of the freebies and what items to grab if you are new to SL, to stop you looking like a newbie as soon as possible. We all know it's not easy when you start out on Second Life so I thought it would be fun to show you how to make the most out of your new avatar without spending one single linden. That should keep me busy until I get my Jennaa back. So check back tomorrow for that post!

OK so we all know Elysium Eilde is one of the best photographers on Second Life, but did you also know she has started dabbling into making clothes? If her first little creation is anything all us shoppers are all in for a massive treat. You can pick up a a fantastic 5 pack of these cute little zip cardigans at her studio. This very versatile cardigan comes in 5 colors.. blue, brown green, red and purple. The best thing is though that they are FREE! The texture is lovely and there are no odd patches of color anywhere. blogger appreciation week is May 11-18th and all I can say is YAY! I have been loving being part of this amazing week and group. This group is for active fashion bloggers and have we been spoiled to death, treated to some fantastic trips down memory lane and I am sure there is more to come. Thank you so much to Callie Cline for this amazing group and week! You rock my little socks!

So many wonderful bloggers spend hours upon hours, putting together outfits, finding SLURL's and working on their spell check (God bless spell check). It really does take a passion to keep writing and blogging on whatever topic you have chosen to dedicate your time too. It can go unnoticed, people can leave nasty comments and some of the time people just don't care. To me though it's all about sharing the creativity that flows from every single person who takes the time to share themselves in some form or another! It may be your own personal styling, your take on a fashion event or a new and fantastic shop you have found and are dying to share. It's all worth sharing and I thank you so so much for the hours of enjoyment you have given me and the courage you have given me to express myself more through blogging. Second Style has been around for quiet some time and is still one of the most visited sites for everything you could need to know about the Fashion Industry in SL! My personal favorite concept from this blog is the "Style Calendar". This fantastic section is written by By Rhi Rossini and details all the events happening for that day, weekend and week. Just look up the day you are after. Great for people like me who always forget to add thing to their google calendar. Oh and she adds an SLURL in case you do not already have a LM or you have accidentally deleted your invitation. Oh come on who hasn't done that! Thanks Rhi you are a life saver for me!
