With MVW 2011 only a few weeks away I thought I would share with you some of my looks that I been putting together for the last stage of this amazing competition.

MVW 2011 has pushed me in directions I never imagined! With 28 unbelievable girls who know how to style like you wouldn't believe I have really felt the need to improve..improve and then improve again. Still I don't believe I am up to their standard but I will keep trying dang it.

I looked forward to sharing more looks with you over the next couple of weeks. I really wish all the amazing ladies in this competition the very best and lets enjoy it cause it's nearly over.

Fellini's Most Beautiful Poem.

The gorgeous Poem Gown by Joy Fellini is one of her most beautiful creations in my opinion. It comes in the stunning colors of pinks and gold with touches of a luxurious cream tone. This instantly adds depth and luxury to this already stunning gown while perfectly placed pearls add softness. The flowing tiers over the structured skirt have a wonderful romantic and Victorian style and the strong color of the flowers does not take away from the softness or sophistication that this gown illuminates. Visitors to the SL House & Garden Sim can expect to see a venue dedicated to everything home, furniture, garden and decor. There will be a fantastic array of shops featuring the very best home and decor creators from accross the grid. There is more 'showcase rooms' featuring home and decor creators each offering an exclusive item for visitors to the sim, as well as a room for interior designers and bloggers each demonstrating different ways of creating a look for your home. There is also a new texture trend showroom.....a first for SL! This showroom displays some amazing and unique textures and shows you how to work textures together. Visitors will also have a relaxing gallery and cafe to enjoy which features home decor and garden photography of group members. There is also a terrific display of the winners of the SL House & Garden Group monthly photography competition. Not to mention, a spectacular and diverse sim built by pitsch Parx that is simply breathtaking.

I can not thank pitsch Parx enough for creating this amazing sim with me. It has honestly been a humbling experience to work with such a talented person on this project. It has been an absolute pleasure my friend. XoXo

Second Life furniture, garden, home and decor is a dynamic and ever growing industry that I am truly entusiastic and passionate about. I have tried to keep up to date with product releases and all the incredible changes within this field, but I found myself juggling over 20 groups and quite simply, failing to succeed.

I was motivated to create a group named SL House & Garden. My ambition was for this group to be used as a resource tool for anyone who has a vested interest in this awesome industry.

Bloggers and shoppers alike, can be informed about latest released, updates, sale notices and great gifts from our favourite Home, Decor and Garden designers in SL.

•★• TEXTURE TREND FORECAST •★•

There is the "Textrure Trend Forecast" room just near the landing point. For the new SL House & Garden sim pitsch and I had the idea to showcase some of SL 's best textures artists around, and make a room only for textures, the "Texture Trend Forecast" room. Here you can pick up free textures, see how to work them together and get inspiration for your next project. These will change every 6 weeks. They will be themed and work from there. Jennaa Loire and Pitsch Parx will make themes and make textures groups within those themes. Make sure you stop there... have a look and pick up your free textures.

•★• DISPLAY ROOMS •★•

Designers are often faced with the challenge of marketing their products without the big ticket expenses of owning and operating a store in SL. In an effort to help their dilemma and to display some terrific items to visitors of SL House & Garden Centre & group, I have created 3 display rooms. There are 2 display rooms on this sim.

These display areas will be rotated through the designers in the group and changed every 4 weeks. This is a fantastic way for well-known and aspiring creators to generate interest in their designs, and for home and garden enthusiasts to access a variety of products in one place.

If you are a creator (big or small) and you would like to use one of the showrooms for a period of time, please contact me in-world for a notecard explaining all about them.

If you an enthusiast, this is an opportunity to get to know some of the popular and lesser known designers within SL. The creators will also have an exclusive item available for purchase during their time at the SL House & Garden Centre. Make sure you head on over to their display rooms and pick their items up.

•★• INTERIOR DECORATOR/BLOGGER ROOM •★•

Interior decorators and bloggers are often faced with the challenge of displaying their work inworld. SL stores generally feature creators, designers and retailers but there is no opportunity for decorators and bloggers to display their creativity.

The SL Home & Garden Sim has created a showroom especially for interior decorators and bloggers to demonstarte their ability and imagination. Visitors of the centre can see their amazing work upclose and creators can browse the showroom and be inspired to send future review items to the tenants.

This showroom area will be rotated every 4 weeks through the interior decorators and bloggers in the group who wish to use it. This is a fantastic way for well-known and aspiring decorators/ bloggers to generate interest in their work and give their followers and real-life, 3 dimensional presentation of their conception.

Fellini Couture is back with an amazing new gown that will literally take your breath away ... GoldWire !!!

With a stunning skirt... this dress is made with a kind of oriental fabric embroidered of gold. A simple yet stylish belt highlights your feminine waist and finishes the skirt to perfection.

The top is very transparent like a second skin and gives a very very sexy aspect to this gown. A soft and slightly transparent fabric is wrapped around the chest and ends on the back like a toga. While it all comes together with a beautiful flower at the shoulder.

Flowers are scattered here and there and a special one comes as an accessory for the hair. Just to add that extra little touch.

I am so thrilled that the group has over 100 members now with some of the most talented creators & bloggers on the grid. I am amazed by the artistic flair of Joy Fellini and every time she releases a new creation in her store Fellini Couture, I am overwhelmed with anticipation of yet another breathtaking design. It is always with great pleasure that I write about Joy Fellini's creations in the hope that I can share her fabulous gowns with as many people as possible. Pure gold is an amazing, extravagant and highly detailed gown. Fine Golden detail, foliage, doves and stars adorn this gown and its' success is in Fellini's meticulous attention to detail. Reflections Of Jennaa - Love Games.

This week, I was impelled to put together an outfit with some of my favorite items. The dress is one of my best loved items from one of my favorite stores LeeZu. It is so amazingly colorful and there are many more shades to choose from in store. The puzzle cube is a cute novelty that is actually a generously free gift from CHABINNS. I hope you enjoy these items as much as I enjoy sharing them with you.

It's no secret that I am a massive fan of homes, furniture, decor and garden items on SL. One of my favorite ways to spend my SL time is to go shopping for fantastic pieces for my home. For a long time I have been an admirer of joy Fellini's photography. Just one look at her stream on flickr can take your breath away and transport you Worlds you can't imagine. You can sit there mesmerized taking in the whole piece of art before your eyes and get lost in the dreamy creations.

You can imagine my anticipation when I discovered she had opened a store displaying her own unique clothing designs. I could hardly wait to venture into the store and lay eyes what I could only presume would be breathtaking and flawless designs. The reality of my discovery was even more rewarding and wonderous than I had anticipated. When I entered her store it felt like I had walked into a realm of glamour, luxury, grace, and sheer elegance.

EFA ( (Ewing Fashion agency) Runway Diva is on again! On the 17th November, at 12:00 AM SLT.The theme is Sexy! How you interrupt this is up to you. There is mini contest. If you want to join, please bring your two outfits and poses, and be ready to strut your stuff on the catwalk. The winner will get a good Prize from Sponsor who is Phia Vaughan and Sampson Suntzu from Twisted & Spoiled. Twisted & Spoiled is a fantastic shop for clothes, hair, jewelry and accessories.

The amazing Tillie Ariantho will be there as photographer for the event and we all know she does an amazing job taking photos at shows. Naive’s Modeling Contest!

Saw this fantastic contest this morning and just had to repost it on my blog. Get those entries in people!

Here’s your chance to do all two! Beginning on October 11, 2009, you have a chance to become a Naïve Girl/Guy! What is a Naïve Girl/Guy? As a Naïve Girl/Guy you get a chance to model new releases for Naïve in our print ads. You’re also able to blog not only Naïve clothes but other designers on our official Naïve website (http://www.naivesl.com) which feeds the most important SL Fashion Feeds.

The rules of the contest are simple. These are the following requirements.:

1.) You have to take at least two pictures of yourself mixing and matching clothes from Naïve so we can see your personal style. You’re allowed to use items from other stores, but the majority of the outfit must be from Naïve.

2.) You have to write a brief description of what the outfit is and why you chose to put this particular outfit together. Please also include which stores you bought the items from. After you’ve written the mock blog, include a paragraph as to why we should pick you to be a Naïve Girl/Guy. The mock blog write up and paragraph altogether should be at least 200 words. You may write it in English or Spanish.

3.) Once you’ve done all of that, title your note card as: “Naïve Girl/Guy – Your First and Last Name here” and send it Clear Canning, Naïve’s Store Manager. And yes males are allowed to enter the contest as well considering we do cater to men’s apparel.

THIS CONTEST RUNS FROM OCTOBER 11, 2009 TO OCTOBER 18, 2009 WITH WINNERS SHORTLY TO FOLLOW.

We are currently Casting for a Ewing Alumni Show to be held on Sunday 20th September at 2pm SLT. We will be casting five female alumni models for this show.. The show will be to showcase the new fantastic designs of one of our very own alumni Aleida Rhode and her fashion label Aleida,

There will be three rehersal times, please ensure that you can make at least two of them before applying to be part of the show.

Saturday September 19th at 12pm
(this will be the full dress rehersal and must be attended by all)

Sunday September 20th at 2pm Showtime (please arrive backstage at 1pm)

Have you been thinking about training for the exciting world of fashion modeling? Do you wonder what it takes to become a successful model in Second Life? Here’s your chance to be trained by some of the best models in Second Life.

The instructors of the Ewing Elite Model Training Program are pleased to announce the start of its next session on Monday, September 14th, 2009. Class sessions are planned for 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM SLT, enrollment permitting, running from September 14th through September 27th, 2009 with the Graduation Show on Sunday September 27th. Classes will consist of three sessions per week meeting on Monday, Wednesday and Friday plus at least two runway workshops per week. The cost for the course is L$10,000. All serious aspiring models, male and female are invited to interview. Please contact Ella Quinsette or Raine McCellan if you wish to be considered. Also, please submit a short bio about yourself and your interests.

Interviews will be by appointment only between September 5th and September 13th . Each interview is expected to last thirty minutes. If invited to interview, you will be given a location and be expected to dress professionally and appropriately for the world of fashion modeling. Miss Costa Rica Sims 2010. It's nearly time!

The Miss Costa Rica Sims 2010 pageant is nearly here. The pageant will be held on September 13th, 2009 as the capstone event of The Costa Rica Sims 2nd Anniversary Celebration. I have only had the best time doing this. Every single one of the ladies deserves this title. They have all been a delight to get along with and we have had some terrific fun.

[LeeZu!] Model Search/Competition July

Hello all, I got this invite inworld and wanted to share it with you. Amazing competition and as we all know LeeZu makes stunning creations, so fantastic excuse to go and spend some lindens on some gorgeous creations. To all who enter good luck and can not wait to see the 20 selected walk the runway!

Welcome to the first annual model competition/search. We at [LeeZu!] are very excited to announce that we have not one, but TWO openings at our main store for store models. Have you ever dreamed of becoming a store model for [LeeZu!]? Well, here's your chance!

***PLEASE NOTE*** You do NOT have to be a professional model to participate in this contest. All you need is a sense of style and at least one hour per day to spend at the [LeeZu!] store six days per week. One of the prizes is a paid position with {LeeZu!].

HOW IT WORKS:

The search will begin with a photo. You can take a photo anywhere on the TT9 Sim, in the store or anywhere else you think would make a good shot. Photos can be raw or photoshopped. You are required to take your photo in a mix and match outfit from [LeeZu!].

NOTE: MUST BE MIX AND MATCH... not just one outfit. All articles of clothing MUST be [LeeZu!]. However, accessories, hair and shoes can be from anywhere.

Once you're satisfied with your photo, please put it in a notecard along with your name, a list of what you are wearing in the photo and submit the notecard to BARBARA NICHOLLS. Photos may be any size up to 1024 X 1024. Okay, how's it sounding so far?

BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!!

Contest starts on July 15th. We will accept entries up to 8:00 pm SLT on July 31st. Once the deadline is up, 20 finalists will be chosen to do a simple runway walk. Dig out one of your cool poses and show us what you got. There will be five judges at the end of the runway and each of the 20 finalists will be asked one question regarding modelling in general.

NOTE:

Finalists MUST wear what they wore in their photos for the runway walk!

The runway walk and selection of winners will take place on August 15th at 12 noon SLT. Finalists will need to also attend a rehearsal for the August 15th show. Rehearsals will be scheduled for 12 noon SLT on August 8th and 9th. The show will be attended by Media, Agency Representatives, Management and Staff of [LeeZu!] and the general public. The show will be coordinated by "STUDIO RED". They'll teach you everything you need to know for the walk.

PRIZES:

From the 20 finalists, based on the photos and the interview, two winners will be selected. These two winners will each receive a 10 K CASH prize.

SPECIAL NOTE:

The two winners will be offered a position modelling in the [LeeZu!] store where they will become paid employees and will be expected to work one hour per day in the store, six days per week. In addition to the 10 K Cash Prize, they will receive several outfits of their choice from the [LeeZu!] store, plus they will be inducted into the modelling pool.

Special attention will be given to those who can put together an original outfit from [LeeZu!] items.

“On November 4th, 2008 Proposition 8 passed, amending the state Constitution to ban same-sex marriage.

In the wake of the defeat, there has been a groundswell of initiative from within the community at grassroots level. Seizing this opportunity, new political and protest organizatitions are forming almost daily. The NOH8 Campaign is a photo project & silent protest created by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska and partner Jeff Parshley in direct response to the passage of Proposition 8.

The campaign started with portraits of everyday Californians who support Marriage Equality and soon rose to celebrities, military personnel, brothers & sisters, law enforcement, lesbian mothers, directors, politicians, newlyweds, and more, Photos feature subjects with duct tape over their mouths symbolizing their voices not being heard and NOH8 painted on one cheek in protest. “

As residents of SL™ and as individual human beings, we have the right to a voice. In Second Life™ we can be partnered to whoever we choose, male or female. And yet we are all from different countries, some of us are from places where same-sex marriage is legal. Others are from districts where even civil unions don’t exist as an option. The thing we all have in common is that we care about everyone having equal rights, and everyone is willing to come together for it. The NO H8 campaign in SL™ is a way for us to say “Hey, we want our voices to be heard.”

The response so far has been absolutely overwhelming. People from all over the world have placed duct tape over their mouths and placed NOH8 on their pixel faces in protest of Proposition 8. A lot of the photos can be seen in the Flickr group, and the official NOH8 website has dedicated a section to the SL photos as well.

Hey everyone, I know I have left this to the last minute to post but I had to share this! Starlight is currently doing a modeling casting. If you honestly know what is good for you, you will apply. You are running out of time so get those applications in quick smart. All the details are below and I have copied them here straight from the notecard. Starlight is founded by RubyStarlight Writer and has an amazing team on board that are the some of the best if not the best in their fields in SL!

Hello to all models!

In preparation for the launch of a new project, I am holding a casting call for new models, both MALE and FEMALE. The model position is primarily for LIVE modeling, (events or in-store work) but I will be looking for a few runway and print models as well.

The number of models to be hired are as follows:

20 Live Models
10 Runway Models
5 Print Models

Live models are considered to be in an "entry-level" position and may be graduated to Runway or Print model status at a later time, and there may be a few opportunities for both depending on needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

-Must be at least 4 months old in SL.
-Must have attended modeling school, currently be attending modeling school, or have had at least three modeling jobs.

To Audition:

1. Join the Starlight subscriber group by using the following landmark. All call backs will be announced through this group. We cannot IM every model who receives a call back individually, so THIS STEP IS VITAL.

3. Place ONE headshot photo inside the folder, titled with your name, FULL PERMS. If you do not send it full perms, then I cannot put it on a board for review.

Jennaa finally has a new home!

It's been quiet a while since I did a week 2 week update. Ever since poor Jennaa was put into lock down. I have had such trouble with SL over the last few weeks but I think it's finally starting to settle down. After everything was sorted out with with the lindens, I downloaded the update and my word what a disaster! Let's just say I have gone back to my good old viewer and I seem to not be nearly having as much trouble thank goodness.

I have managed to catch up on alot of shopping, slowly catching up on the shows I missed and I got myself a new home! I am so in love with my new home and I don't think I have ever been this happy with my residence on SL. I had looked at Costa Rica Sims before, but thought I had better get a little more settled, then when my friend Imani showed me a plot that was available that was it... SOLD.

The Costa Rica Sims is a world within a virtual world, having been named one of the "25 Most Beautiful Places in Second Life®" by different publications and "Hot Spots" on Secondlife.com®. No other Estate in SL™ offers as many different environments and amenities as the Costa Rica Sims, allowing residents from over 40 different countries around the world to live in harmony with nature. ANNOUNCING MISS BLISS COUTURE 2010!

I am entering this and thought I would share it with everyone or the one person who checks out my blog. (The below text is taken directly from the note card).

This is a multi-level competition based on photos, live modeling and objective judging. NO VOTES! The competition begins June 18th and we will accept entries till July 30th 2009.

Step 1 - Join "THE BEST OF SL Magazine Readers" Group. All notices and results will be announced in this group only.

Step 2 - Models will submit photos of themselves wearing a dress or outfit from Bliss Couture. One full body and one headshot 512 X 512 (FULL PERM) each. Full body photos will be judged on styling, while headshots will judged based on visual appeal of the model. Please send your entry in a folder (not a notecard) to Caymon Zhora. Label your entry MISS BLISS COUTURE 2010 (YOUR NAME).

Step 3 - 100 girls will be selected from these entries for a live audition callback. Models should again wear a Bliss Couture dress or outfit and style themselves in a way they believe represents the image of Bliss Couture. Live audition will include a runway walk and will take place over 2 live audition times so all girls will have a chance to be seen.

Step 4 - Pool will be narrowed down to 20 models from the live audition. Since the winner of the competition will be working closely with designer Amutey DeCuir, it is important that the girl herself show signs of reliability and be personable. An interview will be scheduled for each girl to gauge for compatibility between model and designer.

Step 5 - The pool of 20 will be narrowed down to 10. The 10 finalists will all have a photoshoot done wearing the same dress provided to them by Bliss Couture. These side by side photos by a professional photographer will be judged by a panel and will determine the top 5.

Step 6 - The top 5 will all be invited to be Bliss Couture Models, on staff for live modeling, runway modeling, special events and select vendor ads. The 5 finalists will walk in a runway show, wearing all new releases from Bliss Couture. A panel of judges will be present to determine the winner.

Step 7 - From the top 5, ONE lady will be chosen as Miss Bliss Couture 2010. Miss Bliss will be considered the "Face" of Bliss Couture, appearing in most vendor ads for new clothing, and will exclusively be the model in all print advertising for magazines and other media. Miss Bliss Couture will be given priority for all modeling jobs available, only being replaced in the event of her being unavailable.

PRIZES!

The top 10 finalists will receive a professional photoshoot, and their choice of any one fatpack of a Bliss Couture dress or outfit.

The top 5 finalists will all become Bliss Couture models, and be hired for various modeling work within the company. In addition to the prizes for the top 10, the top 5 girls will also each receive a $5000L gift card to Bliss Couture.

EYES: L$0 (Miriel) Realistic Eyes - in the shade of Earth. I actually managed to pick up a pack of 19 eyes from Miriel quiet a while ago for nothing. She had a fantastic pack full of eyes for free. Miriel's eyes are just amazing in detail and the colors are just divine. Unfortunately when I went back to grab a landmark for this blog I noticed I was not allowed access to the sim... so I immediately headed to her blog and low and behold on Saturday, June 13th 2009 she posted this message. " A heads up: Saturday the 20th will be the last open day for the sim". It's heartbreaking to see such a fantastic creator close up shop. I wish Miriel Enfield the very best and may she find creative happiness in whatever she decides to do.

I know that whenever I am looking for a piece to finish off an outfit I can just head to her stores and pick something up. This lavish necklace comes in gold and silver and there are 4 gorgeous gem colors to choose from. Each necklace is L$450 and you can also pick up matching earrings for L$100. I am so in love with her creations, I will most likely end up getting the whole store.

“On November 4th, 2008 Proposition 8 passed, amending the state Constitution to ban same-sex marriage.

In the wake of the defeat, there has been a groundswell of initiative from within the community at grassroots level. Seizing this opportunity, new political and protest organizations are forming almost daily. The NOH8 Campaign is a photo project & silent protest created by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska and partner Jeff Parshley in direct response to the passage of Proposition 8.

The campaign started with portraits of everyday Californians who support Marriage Equality and soon rose to celebrities, military personnel, brothers & sisters, law enforcement, lesbian mothers, directors, politicians, newlyweds, and more, Photos feature subjects with duct tape over their mouths symbolizing their voices not being heard and NOH8 painted on one cheek in protest. ”
